Anaya came to us six months before her wedding with a single mood-board image — a portrait of her grandmother on her own wedding day, photographed in soft, almost imperceptible light. The brief was clear: I want to look like her, but with the technology of now.
We designed the look around restraint — a luminous airbrush base, a deeper kohl that referenced the bride's grandmother's signature, and a soft champagne lip that picked up the embroidery on her Sabyasachi lehenga without competing with it. Hair was sculptural but understated: a low chignon with hand-set pearls.
The wedding day was four hours of preparation, an hour of family arrival, and a sunset ceremony at the JW that her photographer described — three weeks later, when the album was delivered — as the easiest bridal lighting he'd ever worked with.
